The world will change after COVID-19, the effect will remain even after the transition is over
The epidemic caused by the Coronavirus is exacerbating the global health crisis. Lockdown is the new 'rule' for the world. Now the perception is changing very fast that after the end of Coronavirus the appearance of the world will change completely. Scientists also have given an opinion that for the next one to two years the whole world will continue to struggle in the threat of COVID-19 and even after that the reconstruction and its lasting effects will certainly felt for many years.
The case of Coronavirus infection first came in the city of Wuhan,China in late 2019 and it became a global pandemic. Due to this, the systems connected with each other's strength in the world have changed. As part of the effort to control the outbreak of the virus, social interactions have been imposed. This forces more than one-third of the world's population to remain locked in their homes.
Exempting jobs, shadow of increasing hunger :
Limitations are closed in most parts of the world due to the lockdown, all businesses including airports - hotels, educational institutions are closed. Unprecedented steps such as lockdown are breaking the social fabric of some societies and disrupting many economies. As a result, people are losing jobs on a large scale and the shadow of hunger is increasing. At present nobody knows what form this crisis will show in the future. Today's top priority is to save lives and this objective of saving lives is future success.
After COVID-19 pandemic a prudent planning will be needed :
We understand the context of World War II today, if the Coronavirus is a war, then it cannot be fought nor killed. Enemies are often unpredictable during wartime, but they are rarely invisible. Nevertheless, if a war is to be conquered, a prudent plan is necessary. Even if the war is against Coronavirus.
Preparation from mask to ventilator :
Two similar aspects are emerging in the world due to this epidemic. First, it is a state of public health emergency, which can persist for a long time. Until its vaccine develops, the threat will remain. Different countries will continue to struggle to overcome the cycle of new infections of this virus and thus their health systems will remain under pressure. A collective effort is also needed to overcome the barriers to the development of the vaccine, its production and equitable distribution. International supply chains must be prepared on a war footing to produce and supply essential goods such as masks to ventilators to treat rapidly growing patients requiring intensive care.
Recession begins after COVID-19 pandemic :
China faces the threat of export markets disappearing and out of supply chains. The second-order effects caused by this infectious disease can rapidly devastate global financial markets. COVID-19 has not only demolished property prices and stock markets, but has also badly affected real life and real activities. There is no doubt that the world has gone into recession. Estimates for global GDP 2021 have fallen below 2.5 percent. When production stops, this is the expected result. Commercial operations have been forced to shut down, resulting in a drop in production everywhere.
Digital infrastructure strengthened :
Due to COVID-19 people have to mold themselves to work from home. All of us have been motivated to make collective efforts to find digital solutions for meeting, learning, doing workouts and other work at home. For this reason, some of these methods are likely to continue in the post COVID-19 world.Artificial Intelligence (AI) based drug development :
The sooner we develop effective and safe medicines for treatment of COVID-19 and the vaccine that protects against COVID-19, the sooner this epidemic can be controlled. Artificial intelligence will be an ideal partner in the development of medicine. It will be able to complement human efforts and intensify those efforts. Our current situation will make us aware of future efforts to seek help of Artificial Intelligence in drug development.
Telemedicine: Consulting with video conferencing :
To reduce congestion and movement of people in hospitals and healthcare providers' offices, many hospitals and doctors are advising patients to consult only through video conferencing. Clinical care can be provided to the patient by remote care rather than going to the healthcare center. Before COVID-19, many healthcare providers were in a dilemma about remote care, but now that physical distance has been made mandatory in many areas, this interest in physicians has also increased.Telemedicine will be the new trend |
Increased reliance on robots :
Robots are not at risk of virus infection. Robots can be used in everything from delivering groceries to performing important tasks in the healthcare system and running a factory. Companies are now beginning to accept that robots can help us in the present day and robots can play an important role in the post COVID-19 world and during any future pandemic. New habits will develop and the world after the epidemic will be different from the world before the epidemic.Impact on education system :
To help slow the spread of the virus, students in various parts of the world, including India, started reading and learning through the app at home.Thunderstroke on jobs, economy will be affected :
Apart from the tragic human consequences due to the epidemic, economic uncertainty has also increased. The global economy will suffer a one trillion dollar setback in 2020. UNCTAD(United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) believes that India will incur a trade deficit of $ 348 million due to the corona virus outbreak. Around 25 million jobs in the world will fall. The United States is incredibly dependent on China. 90% of all goods of most companies are made in China from oil-generated materials such as plastics and polyester. There may also be a shortage in supply of many goods. About 80 percent of medicines sold in the US are produced in China. China is also the largest and in many cases the sole global supplier for active ingredients of some important drugs. After COVID-19 pandemic we have to start new habits :
There is a lot of habit in our lives and these habits help us to work, take care of our family and achieve our goals in a very effective way. When this system gets a shock, our habits change. The way people work and move, their daily routine and the rhythm of their lives change. Their ways of eating and communicating with their families change. When people are forced to do things differently, new habits begin to arise. There is an opinion given by scientists that if COVID-19 will end, still we have to make social-distancing till 2022.Culture affected by epidemic :
Another aspect of life that has been severely affected by this outbreak is culture, especially religion. The epidemic has affected religion in various ways and places of worship associated with various religions like temples, mosques, gurudwaras and churches were closed and pilgrimages associated with various festivals and festivals were halted.
This epidemic is different from any war but it needs to work together to overcome it. When people realize what can be achieved through collective action, there can be a change in how we are connected and this will result in a wider sense of community. The COVID-19 epidemic has changed the world drastically. When we overcome this, we will surely be in a different world.
