Mental health should be a priority for everyone

Increased suicide incidents in the country due to depression, anxiety and stress indicate a major mental health crisis. India is among the most depressed country in the world and ranks among the top countries in suicide cases. Various researches estimate that about 15 crore Indians are struggling with mental health related problems and only three crore of them are getting any kind of medical help. It is a fact that every suicide suggests that many people are in such a condition that they can take their own lives.

Circumstances change according to time, do not commit suicide

Living and dying is the law of nature. But when we try to end the beautiful life of our own, it is a great sin. If we talk about suicide statistics in our country, then this number is staggering. Every year 2.3 lakh people commit suicide in India. That is, every four minutes one person is falling prey to it, which includes the most youth. There can be many reasons for suicide, one of which is depression. The number of people who died of depression in this country is 10.5 per one lakh. Man loses his temper in depression. He is not aware of what he is doing and ends his existence in his depression, why they don't even think about their family especially parents, how they will sustain after hearing this. Every human being should be patient, because time heals all wounds and it is the most powerful.

If we look at the statistics, in 1990, India had 25.3% of the cases of suicides among women worldwide, but in 2016 this proportion increased to 36.6%. The proportion of males increased from 18.7 to 24.3 per cent during this period. Suicides can have many social, economic and personal reasons, but ultimately it is a mental health issue. The condition of health services in our country is not satisfactory and there is also a sense of neglect and apathy towards mental health. On an average, there are only 3 psychiatrists available over Ten lakh people facing such problems. In such a situation, even if he seeks medical help, it is possible that he does not have such specialists around him. Similarly, there is a huge shortage of mental counselors. But the biggest hurdle in this context is at the social level. In the absence of awareness and sensitivity, people do not take mental troubles seriously, and if they want to share their difficulties, then social understanding is hampered. In our society, such people are seen with disdain or neglect and try to keep a distance from them. Because of this, many distressed people are forced to remain suffocated instead of sharing their problems.

Many people hesitate to share their problems with others as they feel that this will spoil their personality and character and it can affect their career and it will also reduce their self-esteem. But this thinking havocs their own lives. "Physical pain is more dramatic as compared to mental pain, but mental pain is more common and even more difficult to tolerate. The constant effort to hide mental pain increases the burden. It is easier to say, 'I have a headache' than to say 'My heart is broken'."
In such a situation, which can be solved with normal interaction, mutual support or minor medical help, it becomes suicidal, society will have to be free from such prejudice because about 15% of the country's population is in mental trouble. If only the family, relatives, people of the neighborhood will not raise their hands for a solution, then it will be difficult to save those living in depression. Our wide-ranging sensibilities can give new life to millions of people, it is only on the basis of awareness and sensitivity that the essential importance of mental health can be established in healthcare, if someone around you is struggling with such a problem, then do not make fun of them Instead of blowing up and humiliating them, you should encourage them, be helpful and arrange medical support for them if necessary. You can also advice them to do some yoga and meditation to keep themself calm. Just inarm them and tell "you are not worthless". This is more important.
